Idea + Concept

For our Digital Artefact, Boswell and myself developed the idea to look at the historical accuracy of the Assassin’s Creed franchise due to our love for the games. The franchise has been ever present in popular video game culture for over a decade, often being the cornerstone by which similar games are judged. For myself as a history major student, I absolutely love games that can teach history, whether they intentionally set out to do so or not. Drawing upon the readings for BCM215, Boswell and myself looked at these Assassin’s Creed games and extrapolated on the ways in which video games can teach history to those who play them.
