Welcome back the my three-part series on gaming and mindfulness. In the last blog post we explored how mindfulness and meditation can improve the gaming experience.

Today we are digging deeper by exploring the impact of gaming on an individuals’ brain and how some forms of gaming can achieve similar results to mindfulness mediation.

According to a 2015 study on how digital games can improve mindfulness, the interactive nature of games allows the development of experiential knowledge, at which mindfulness is cultivated.

Games can be so engaging that they make their players forget about time and create an absorbing interaction, which is why gaming has been described as a meditative practice by itself.

So, how can gaming be a form of mindfulness?
