‘Isolation’ was the game I pitched in week 5 (see pitch video below). The game was simple and similar to that of ‘Trouble’ where the aim was to send all three of the player’s pieces around the board without getting close to others pieces, otherwise, they would be sent back down the board for breaching ‘social distancing’.
Through iteration and three prototyping phases, this game developed several issues that I tried to overcome improving the overall theme and narrative, but I did struggle. When first playing the game, it took 5 minutes to set up and an additional 45 minutes to play. The lack of game mechanics made the game boring, dragging on for longer than it should.
